  • A discussion between Raffaello Galiotto (R), Hasan Tunçağ (M), Deputy General manager of one of the top international fairs, "Marble" Izmir Turkey and Brian Gurteen (L) of Naturstein. The subject was to provide an interesting fair, to attract more visitors. Hassan Tunçağ told Raffeallo Galitto that he is very impressed with his exhibition, Stone Theatre, in Hall 1. Next Marble fair takes place 22- 25.03.2017.

  • What can be produced: great design, it looks good and it’s functional.

  • Lianne Valster, Assistant Manager Prodim: “Our stand was full most of the time, it was a great fair with lots of interested visitors from all over Europe, and many from Germany.”

  • “We speak no English very much, yes we students, yes we love natural stone.” Well, there’s hope: We need youngsters in the industry.

  • Akin Yesdilkaya, General manager of Haz marble, a part of the key Turkish company Haz Group: I would like to see more northern Europeans visit us in Turkey, we have a lot to offer.”

  • Licinio and Ana Cordeiro: Their company Airemarmores from Portugal works with many German companies. "We have had some growth in Poland, so we will exhibit again this year in Poznan at the Stone show."

  • Federico Sarti of Specialinsert He is looking very happy. Why? Their product “Keep-Nut” has just been given ATA approval.

  • Here they are again: DNV Joachim Grüter and Reiner Krug, discussing the fast amount of Turkish natural stone products available, with Erdogan Akbulak, the chairman of one of the major Turkish companies AKDO.

  • Three jolly Englishmen of SMC, Phillip Birchall managing director centre: “We are looking for high quality tools, purchase them before the Pound's even lower due to Brexit.” They are not Brexiteers, no stiff upper lip, “Just looking at the bright side of life.”

  • The iconic Harley-Davidson: matched with the iconic natural stone on the Intermac stand. Material: Granito Creciano.

  • Raffaello Galiotto: discussing visions for the natural stone market with the DNV-President Joachim Grüter and DNV-General Manager Reiner Krug.

  • The Vertical Cava Designed by Raffaello Galiotto. The vertical cave is a hollow pyramidal structure. It's 360 cm high, manufactured from a piece of Sodalite Blue and only 60 cm long. It was designed to show how with modern technology, you can cut the waste down to a minimum. Even with this innovative and very complex shape, 83% of the material was used. Material from Antolini, Machine Prussiani Engineering.

  • Umberto Guarda: “I have worked in the stone industry for over 40 years, working in my father's company since the age of thirteen. The main problem I see the stone industry is facing is that the ceramic companies are cutting our industry in half. The result? On one side, there will be simple cut-to-size at very low prices, on the other side will be well designed high quality products, a smaller market and higher profit. I am now in partnership with Margraf to show the architects the beauty and variety of natural stone.“

  • Hasan Burak Alimoğlu, Vice President of the Turkish company Alimoğlu: “We are concentrating on new technology, well designed products, more importantly high quality. This is the future not only for Turkish companies, but the future of the natural stone industry.
